Anyways, on to the updates. Links to relevant YouTube videos if you want to dive deeper. Enjoy!
Week of 1/11/26
Research and Learning:
Learned how to build Claude code agents
Learned how to call Gemini agents via Claude
Verified my privacy settings on Claude / anthropic
Future Research to do:
Iterate the abilities of first working mcp server in work project - done
watch more of IndyDevDans videos. (cool new channel I came across)
commands to remember:
git add .
git commit - m “comment message”
git push
Improvements:
I started a claude Pro account to use in Claude code.
I started a work project and got it added to GitHub.
I got the first MCP server written and working in my project.
I documented in Notion my GitHub setup steps, as I forget them in between projects. (save 45 mins)
built a Claude Code agent session closer agent to sync my context files, document the session work, and push my code up to GitHub automatically.
Successfully built 2 of 5 models of my project. Iterated the PowerShell code and API interactions to get better data. Then built MCP servers based on the scripts.
Successfully tested use case of the end product with 2 MCP servers.
Mistakes:
Start your deep technical troubleshooting with Claude instead of Gemini. Gemini is good, but Claude is better and faster at sys-admin troubleshooting stuff. Both were useful.
That’s it for this week’s Tech Update. -Derek
